Serena Williams withdraws from LA tourney with thumb injury (News 4 Reno)

CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Serena Williams has withdrawn from her fourth consecutive tournament because of a lingering thumb injury. Williams was seeded fourth in the East West Bank Classic that begins Monday in Carson.
